This typewriter has been disassembled, and thoroughly inspected, cleaned and tested.  The keyboard has also been sanitized.  The machine was in perfect condition and no reconditioning was necessary, it is in MINT cosmetic and operational condition!
WHY DOES THIS TYPEWRITER COST MORE THAN OTHERS?
Brother electronic typewriters are well designed, and were built to last a long time.  However, Brother stopped making typewriters years ago because of the proliferation of the computer.   Any electric / electronic typewriter you buy is therefore likely to be more than 10 years old...
NOTE: It is easy to get ribbons and other supplies because Brother produced so many typewriters.
I buy, refurbish and sell
a lot
of these machines because they are so well-made.   But like any other mechanical device, they need to be maintained properly and sometimes repaired.  Although I only source typewriters that
appear to be in perfect condition
, here are some of the things that I find need to be repaired or replaced upon inspection and testing:
• Faulty power supply, resulting in repetitive reset with any kind of vibration.
• Sticky or bad keys
• Gummed up rollers from paper fibers or white-out (yes, even though they have correction function �
)
• Broken carriage pressure levers
• Broken daisy wheels, bad ribbons or brittle correction tapes
• Print hammers needing adjustments
• Dirt, dust and paper fibers throughout the typewriter
This is why I disassemble, inspect, test and thoroughly clean these typewriters before I offer them for sale.  I also sanitize the keyboards.
This all takes time, and is why I charge differently than other ones you may find.
When you receive this typewriter it will work well right out of the box, and for a long time after that.  Every one I sell has a fresh ribbon and correction tape roll installed, and also has a user guide with other original documentation.   In addition to including additional supplies, I also pack each one carefully and will quickly ship it to you
insured
- all for a flat and reasonable shipping fee.
I also provide a
WARRANTY - If within 30 days of delivery there is a problem with operation of the typewriter, I will repair or replace it with the same or better model - totally free of any charges to you.  Warranty does not cover damage by user, or purchase by typewriter resellers.

One more note about my pricing - the only reason I price the same model differently is because of cosmetic condition.  I won’t sell a machine that isn’t operationally sound, that’s why I refurbish them to original standards.  Things that impact cosmetic condition are discoloration caused by florescent lights, slight scratches or various other imperfections - any of which I disclose and will post relevant pictures.
